UDHAMPUR, Aug 24: Youth of village Koo Nallah organized a meeting, here today under the leadership of senior Congress leader Sumit Magotra for highlighting the local issues.
Speakers on the occasion alleged that Koo Nallah, Ritti, and Barta villages were always ignored by the elected MLAs and the problems of the locals were never addressed.
In his address, Sumit Magotra said it was unfortunate that these areas were being ignored by the elected MLAs while problems of common people were multiplying day by day due to the misrule of J&K UT. He alleged that corruption was ever increasing while higher authorities in the Government seemed to have shut their eyes towards the menace.
Magotra asked people to expose corrupt elements and stressed that if any Government official demands bribe from them, the matter should be immediately brought into his notice to expose these black sheep in the society.
Sumit Magotra once again rued that adjoining villages of Udhampur town were facing problems like scarcity of drinking water, heavy curtailment of power, poor health services and defunct working of Rural Development Department.
On the occasion, a number of youth joined Indian National Congress under the leadership of Sumit Magotra, who welcomed the new entrants and hoped that they would serve the people under the Congress ideology.
