JAMMU, Oct 15: Trikuta Nagar police arrested a youth for raping a migrant labourer on pretext of marriage.
As per police sources, a migrant labourer girl hailing from Chattisgarh, at present Trikuta Nagar lodged a complaint with Trikuta Nagar Police Station that Varun Sangra (21), son of Balbir Singh Sangra of Channi repeatedly raped her on the pretext of marriage.
Acting swiftly, police team from Trikuta Nagar Police Station conducted a raid and arrested the rapist from a hideout.
The girl was restored to family members after completing medical-legal formalities.
A case under FIR number 188/14 was registered against the accused at Trikuta Nagar Police Station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Trikuta Nagar Police Station Naveen Angral made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO East Mohammad Rafiq and SP South Rahul Malik.
