Srinagar, June 18: Police today arrested a resident of Chattabal area of Srinagar for a misleading post on a social media platform, officials said.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Srinagar, Sandeep Choudhary informed that the person was arrested for a fake Facebook post that was potent of risking the life of a local medical shop owner.
Choudhary said that a BCA graduate identified as Sami-ul-llah from Chattabal had posted some fake news about a Medical shop owner on Facebook.
He said that there were no facts behind the news posted by the netizen. “After proper verifications and investigation the youth was arrested,” he said.
The SSP said that people should refrain from such activities as “the police have tools and technology to trace all the anonymous social media users and any such activity will not be tolerated.”
