UDHAMPUR, May 13: The police has arrested a youth in connection with the alleged rape of a minor girl in Galiot area of Pancheri tehsil.
A police spokesman said that a written complaint was lodged against a youth, Baldev Singh (brother-in-law in relation) at Police Station Panchari in district Udhampur by one Angrez Singh of village Galiote, Tehsil Panchari along with his 17-year- old sister today alleging that at about 13:30 hours his sister came to his home and told his wife that at about 11:30 hours when she was alone at home, then alleged accused person namely Baldev Singh, son of Hari Ram of village Sadhota Tehsil Pancheri, came and started using vulgar language with her when she opposed him then he held her and forcibly took inside the room and committed rape with her twice and also threatened her for dire consequences and fled away from the spot.
The police registered a case FIR No 21/2024 U/S 376/506 IPC and 04 POCSO Act.
SHO, Panchari Deepak Sharma sent police team to different areas which traced nabbed the accused and sent to police lock up. The girl was sent to hospital for the medical examination.
