JAMMU, May 13: National Conference additional general secretary and former minister Ajay Kumar Sadhotra today exhorted the young voters, especially the first timers, to seize the opportunity of participating in the biggest democratic exercise of the world’s largest democracy and electing a representative capable of solving their problems and fostering harmony in the society.
Interacting with students from Rajouri and Poonch areas of the Poonch-Anantnag Parliamentary Constituency, studying in the University of Jammu, Cluster University and the Degree Colleges at party office Jammu today, Sadhotra made an appeal for voting and supporting the National Conference candidate Mian Altaf Ahmed.
Sadhotra described Mian Altaf as an embodiment of honesty, compassion and dedication, saying his track record as Member of the Jammu and Kashmir Legislature and Minister has been unblemished and success story of serving the people, especially those marginalized and belonging to disadvantageous areas. He said Altaf possess the vision, integrity and compassion to lead communities towards holistic solutions and societal harmony. He has successfully brought together the principles of ethical governance and spiritual wisdom, fostering a values-based approach to decision-making and policy formulation in various capacities in the government and as a spiritual leader, he added.
He said the NC has a track record of serving people and this spirit is needed to be sustained and promoted by weathering all odds unitedly. He said focused attention is needed to be given to fulfill the deep yearning of youth to save their future and encourage them to play their useful role in nation building.
Sadhotra asked the electorates to make a choice between progressive forces and those believing in myopic politics, aimed at dividing the society on the basis of religion, caste and region.
