KISHTWAR, July 18: A young man drowned today in a river in Khanpura area of Kishtwar.
According to police sources, the deceased identified as Saqlain Mushtaq son of Mushtaq Ahmed, resident of Brewar (Kishtwar) along with his uncle and some others had gone for a picnic in Mughal Maidan area of Khanpura, where he accidentally slipped into deep waters of a tributary of River Chenab.
Later, after hectic efforts, the body of the Saqlain was recovered from the River and shifted to SDH Chatroo for postmortem. The concerned police had taken cognizance of the matter.
