JAMMU, June 16: A young man of age about 21 years drowned today in Jhajjar nallah.
According to a police official, the deceased has been identified as Sourab Choudhary son of Suresh Kumar, resident of Nanak Nagar (Jammu). He said the deceased youth along with his big brother Gourav Choudhary and four other friends had gone to Jhajjar nallah for excursion.
“While taking bath in Jhajjar nallah, Sourabh inadvertently went into deep waters and as he did not know swimming, he drowned in the nallah. One of his friends tried to save him failed in his bid,” the official said, adding on getting information a team from police station Jhajjar Kotli reached the spot and with the help of locals fished out the body from the water.
He said the body was sent for postmortem at Primary Health Centre Dansal.
