KATHUA, May 15: A youth, belonging to a poor family drowned in a nallah in Bani area of district Kathua today.
A police spokesman identified the deceased as 18-year-old Mohd Arif, son of Mohd Ayub, resident of Chaloh village. He along with other youth of the village was going for labour work at Gatti village. They started bathing in Sewa nallah on the way. While Mohd Arif drowned in the nallah, his associate was saved by the people. Later, the body of the deceased was fished out. The police after postmortem handed over the body to the family.
