JAMMU, July 11: Apni Party general secretary Vikram Malhotra said that there is growing disillusion among youth of Jammu and Kashmir with the BJP Government because of its failure to deal with the unemployment.
Malhotra was speaking at a function organized by Youth Wing of the Party at Gandhi Nagar Office. He said the youth had overwhelmingly voted for BJP in last elections, but unfortunately they have been disappointed with the Government’s policies with less employment opportunities and growing number of unemployed youths.
He said that every year thousands of youths complete their professional courses but not all of them get employment. “The job opportunities have not only been reduced in the Government sector, but there is slump in the private sector, too,” added Malhotra. He urged the Government to come up with a policy for the employment of youth in both Government and private sectors.
During the function, over 30 youth joined Youth Wing of the Party. Welcoming them into the Party, Malhotra hoped that their joining would strengthen the Party.
Meanwhile, provincial president, Jammu and former Minister Manjit Singh said that Apni Party represents the aspiration of youth of J&K and we fight for their cause. “The Party is committed to the protection of rights of the youth in J&K without compromising their future,” said Manjit Singh and added that the Party believes that the demands of daily wagers, CISF, BSF and dentists should be accepted by the Government.
He said that daily wagers have become the backbone of the Government Departments and they have kept the essential services running even during the COVID-19 lockdown. “Their services should be acknowledged by regularizing them,” said Manjit Singh.
Youth Wing vice president, J&K, Raqeeq Ahmed Khan and State general secretary, Youth Wing, Abhay Bakaya also spoke on the occasion. They said that the frustration and depression has increased among the youth because of remote chances of getting employment.
