KATHUA, July 13: A youth was electrocuted by 11 KV live wire at Govindsar area near here, today.
According to a police spokesperson, the youth identified as Nitin Kumar (28) son of Rattan Chand , a resident of Govindsar advertently came in contact with a live wire and died on the spot.
Furious over the death of the Nitin, the locals of the area held protest demonstration against PDD at Khote Morh for half an hour and only suspended protest after the assurance of Teshildar who visited on the spot and announced compensation for the deceased family.
A case in this regard was also registered at Kathua Police Station under Section 304A RPC against PDD Department for their negligence.
Meanwhile a dead body was spotted at Shidhi Chowk, Kathua, who was later identified by the Kathua police as Rashiv Padha (25), son of S K Padha resident of Ward Number 2. The body was handed over to family members without post- mortem on their request.
