UDHAMPUR, Jan 10: A youth died while his three friends got injured when a Bolero car, they were travelling in, rolled down in a deep gorge near Surya Hotel Patnitop, here this evening.
The deceased has been identified as Prince Sharma (25) son of Madan Lal of Kotli Jammu. He reportedly died on the spot.
The Bolero car, bearing registration number JK2BD-2057, was on its way from Patnitop to Udhampur when it met with the accident. Locals and police rushed to the spot and took the victims to Sub District Hospital Chenani where doctors declared one of them as brought dead.
The injured were identified as Vijay Sharma (26), son of Raj Kumar of R.S Pura Jammu, Ravinder Sharma (27) son of Saba Ram of R.S Pura Jammu and Munish Kumar (45) son of Desh Raj of Udhampur.
Meanwhile, a boy attempted suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his residence in village Sandrani in Udhampur.
The boy, identified as Ankush Bandral (18) son of Raj Singh of village Sandrani, was shifted to Primary Health Center (Tikri), where doctors referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu. Cause of provocation could not be ascertained while Police has registered the case for investigation.
