JAMMU, Dec 12: Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress today held a strong protest demonstration against the Modi led NDA Government for its alleged attitude to suppress the voice of opposition on various issues.
The protest, near Shahidi Chowk Jammu, was led by Dr Uma Shankar Pandey- secretary IYC Incharge J&K and Pranav Shagotra, president PYC.
A large number of Youth Congress activists took part in the protest and torched an effigy of Prime Minister Narendra Modi amidst raising of slogans against BJP.
While addressing the PYC activists, Uma Shankar Panday alleged that the Modi led NDA Government at the Centre was trying to suppress the voice of Congress party and its leaders. “Congress president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi are raising the issues of farmers and poor sections of the pluralistic society of the nation, besides raising the corruption cases in three BJP ruled States; Vyapam case of Madhya Pradesh and the corruption case against the Chief Minister of Rajasthan and her son worth millions of crores and the inaction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against these Chief Ministers,” he added.
Pranav Shagotra, in his address,  said that the leaders of BJP were  trying to  divert the attention of general masses from the  issues like sky rocketing  rates of the essential commodities, non-fulfillment of promises made by them during the elections campaigns and  increase in corruption etc. Suppressing the voice of opposition is against democratic system of the country and the allegation of BJP that Congress party is not allowing to run the Parliament is wrong, he said and added that it is BJP, which is not allowing the Parliament to run smoothly.
Pranav Shagotra announced that the PYC will continue to raise the issues of public concerned at all levels and fight for the cause of general public under the guidance of AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi and IYC president Arminder Singh Raja.
Youth Congress leaders,  who participated in protest, included  Satish Sharma, Rajveer Singh, Paramjit Singh, Balbir Singh, Rajan Sharma,  Chetan Wanchoo, Sandeep Singh,   Vinay Sharma,  Charanjeet Singh,  Rashid Mali, Ricky Dalotra, Hoshiyar Singh Chib, Pankaj Sharma,  Arun Singh, Sachin Gupta, Jagjot Singh, Anoop Gupta, Rajiv Gupta,  Jatinder Singh Chib, Chander Shekhar, Pawan Matoo, Ravi Kant, Kunal Kohli, Imran Dar, Aakash Bharat, Dayal Singh, Vinod Kumar, Showkat Ali, Sahil Sharma and others.
