JAMMU, May 10: All India Confederation of SC/ST/OBC & Minority Organisations, J&K, organized a youth conclave at Muthi, in Jammu today. The objective of the conclave was to connect youth with the vision of Bharat Ratna, Dr B R Ambedkar.
A large number of students and young participants from across Jammu attended the conclave. The Confederation leaders urged the youth to prioritize education for self-empowerment and to break the shackles of inequality, acquire rational knowledge to understand and challenge social discrimination and emerge as responsible, selfless leaders committed to social service and nation-building.
Welcoming the participants, the leaders invoked Baba Saheb’s principles, “We are Indians, firstly and lastly.” They called upon the youth to work towards building a casteless society where no individual is judged as high or low by birth. The youth were also inspired to actively engage in politics and practice ‘character politics’, based on morality and constitutional values.
Addressing the conclave, R K Kalsotra, president of the Confederation (J&K UT) said that the attempts are being made to alter Indian Constitution. Fundamental rights are under attack. People are being divided and subjected to violence in the name of caste, religion and region. All avenues of youth progress are being blocked.
Kalsotra alleged that many communities for whom the Constitution guarantees special provisions, are today the victim of exploitation. Instead of protecting, our rights, often restrict ourselves to slogans and commotion. This conclave is to ensure we understand, discuss, and embrace the ideals of Babasaheb and the Constitution, he added.
Muddair Jalali youth leader impressed upon the youth to study Dr BR Ambedkar’s philosophy which is great motivation for youth. His struggle is itself a motivation.
A resolution of participants passed for holding one day youth conclave on June 28 2026 at Jammu.
The conclave concluded with students and youth sharing their views.
