SAMBA, Sept 25: A youth committed suicide by jumping from the top of the canal bridge on the Basantar river of Samba. He has been identified as Deepak Kumar (26) son of Dalip Kumar, resident of Goran, Samba, who currently was putting up in the Katli village of Samba.
Police said this afternoon the youth jumped from the bridge and some people had come to graze the animals there who saw him jumping from the bridge informed the police. Later police reached the spot with the team of SDRF and shifted him to Samba District Hospital where doctors declared him dead.
His post-mortem was done in the hospital and later the body was handed over to the relatives for the last rites. To find out the reasons behind his extreme step to end his life the Samba police has registered a case and started further action.
