MENDHAR, Jan 10: A young man committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at his house in Ari, Mendhar.
The deceased was identified as Shehraz Ahmad (25), son of Mohd Aslam of Ari Mendhar. He consumed some poisonous substance and fell unconscious after which the family members shifted him to Sub-District Hospital Mendhar. In view of his serious condition, he was referred to District Hospital Rajouri where doctors further referred him to GMC Hospital Jammu. However, he did not respond to the treatment and died today.
Cause behind taking extreme step could not be ascertained while Police has registered a case in this connection.
The deceased was working as a helper in general shop.
