SRINAGAR, Feb 16: Police today booked a youth for allegedly circulating morphed photographs of his ex-girlfriend on social media and labeling her as an informer of security forces in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
A police spokesperson said last month a girl lodged a written complaint in Police Station Baramulla against her ex-boyfriend who, she said, had shared her morphed pictures on social networking sites after they broke up.
She alleged that by morphing the photographs and portraying her as Police informer he has put her life in danger.
Police said that a case under section 354-D, 506 RPC was registered against the accused. “The accused has been arrested and those people involved in circulating these photographs on social media have also been identified and will be dealt as per law”, he said.
