JAMMU, May 22: A youth allegedly tried to end his life by cutting the veins of his hands in Gandhi Nagar area of the winter capital.
As per police sources, Harvinder Kumar, son of Tulsi Dass of Bishnah along with his girlfriend hailing from Barnai came out of a theatre after watching movie in Gandhi Nagar area.
The duo had a tiff over an issue and the youth allegedly tried to end his life by cutting the veins of his hands.
The girl fearing police action escaped from the spot, leaving behind the youth.
On getting information, police team from Gandhi Nagar police station rushed to the spot and after conducting medical and other legal formalities restored the youth to the family members.
When contacted SHO Gandhi Nagar police station Manzoor Ahmed Kohli told that “we have not received any complaint in this regard but the youth was handed over to family members after completing legal formalities”.
