SAMBA, May 22: A demonstration by the activists of J&KNPP was held in front of office of Tehsildar(S), Vijaypur under the aegis and patronage of Rajesh Pargotra general secretary of NPP (J) against the Power Development Department (PDD) wherein they raised slogans against the prolonged and unscheduled curtailment.
Pargotra said, “the education of the students is being affected due to 18 hours of curtailment daily and the general public is facing hardships due to inclement and intolerable heat. In spite of installation of electronic meters, without reading, double bills are being sent to the beneficiaries of electric connections”.
Among others who participated were M Khajur Singh, Sarpanch Bagla Raiya, Inder Paul Singh Bhagat, Milap Singh, Fakir Chand, Ghirdhari Lal Sharma, Madan Lal, Amar Nath Kanethia, Sansar Chand, Abdul Hamid, Janak Raj Sharma etc.
