RAJOURI, June 15: The police today arrested the youth, who was allegedly involved in harassing and threatening a young housewife and forcing her to change her religion.
A police spokesman said that accused Nadeem Ahmed Manhas, resident of Manhasa Mohalla in Jawahar Nagar area of Rajouri, was today arrested from his hideout. He was wanted by police under case FIR No. 251/ 2017. The action was taken by police after a video of the victim, Bimla Rani went viral alleging that youth was harassing her for the last three years. She alleged that matter was brought to the notice of the then SHO and even SSP Rajouri but there was no action at all. Instead of action, a few cops at the Police Station pressurized her to go for compromise.
After the video went viral and came to the notice of top police officers and others in the Government, the police was forced to take action in this regard.
