JAMMU, Sept 26: Bhaderwah police arrested a youth for raping a minor girl in Puneja area within 24 hours.
As per police sources, a 15-year-old girl hailing from Bhaderwah had gone to her friend’s house at Puneja, where a youth namely Murtaza Hussain Beigh alias Dabbu, son of Zakir Hussain of Puneja raped her during the intervening night of September 23 and 24.
The accused threatened the victim of dire consequences if she revealed the incident to anyone.
However, the girl mustered courage and narrated the ordeal to her family members, who lodged complaint in this regard with police.
A case under FIR Number 112/17 under Section 376 RPC has been registered at Bhaderwah Police Station and hunt has been launched to nab the rapist.
On specific information, a team from Bhaderwah Police Station conducted raid and apprehended the rapist.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
Police team led by SHO Bhaderwah Inspector Jatinder Sambyal made the arrest under the supervision of DySP Bhaderwah Brijesh Sharma, Additional SP Bhaderwah Shaazad Salaria and SSP Doda Mohammad Shabir.
