JAMMU, May 22: A youth was arrested for raping a four-year-old girl in Ratnal area, falling under the jurisdiction of Bishnah police station.
As per police sources, 22-year-old Ashwani Kumar alias Kala, son of Ram Chand of Village Ratnal lured the minor girl on pretext of buying some chocolates on April 20.
The accused took the girl to a secluded place and raped her and after committing the offence fled from the seen.
Some passerby noticed the girl lying unconscious and informed her family members, who took her to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Bishnah from where she was later, referred to Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh (SMGS) Hospital for advance treatment.
On specific inputs, police team from Bishnah police station headed by SHO Narinder Singh nabbed the accused today from a hideout.
A case under Sections 376 RPC has been registered at Bishnah police station and further investigation into the case is going on.
