RAJOURI, Jan 12: Police arrested a youth for committing rape on a 10th class girl student at Sunderbani in district Rajouri today.
The accused has been identified as Sanjeev Kumar, son of Shiv Ram, resident of Marchola near Sunderbani. Parents of the victim, told police that the accused sexually abused their daughter on December 19, taking advantage of loneliness, near community hall in Ward No. 7, at Sunderbani. They alleged that the boy’s family was exerting pressure on them for compromise.
The police registered a case FIR No. 1/ 2013 under Section 376 RPC in this connection and arrested the accused. Further investigation was in progress.
