LEH, Oct 24: A youth has been arrested for allegedly sodomizing a school going teenage here, a police official said.
The incident occurred yesterday afternoon when the victim asked for lift from the accused on his motorcycle.
Police on complaint of child parent registered a case under FIR Number 143/19 and book the accused under section 5 (M)/6 of JK POCSO and 377 RPC.
District Police in a swift action arrested the accused Muzafar Ali, a resident of Chushot within short span of crime.
Meanwhile, Ladakh Buddhist Association (LBA) President PT Kunzang in a letter addressed to Deputy Commissioner/CEO LAHDC, highly condemned the heinous, inhuman and aggravated crime committed by accused. LBA also demands impartial investigation and rigorous imprisonment under strongest section and LBA appreciated Police for their swift action to arrest the culprit in short span of time.
However, District SSP Sargun Shukla refused to talk to the media saying that case is very sensitive as police wants to maintain secrecy of the case. She confirms that accused has been arrested and booked under relevant sections.
