JAMMU, Nov 25: Kanachack Police arrested a youth for raping a minor girl.
As per police sources, yesterday a complaint was lodged by a man with Police Station Kanachack stating that a youth identified as Suresh Bhagat, a resident of Barjala District Jammu allegedly raped his minor daughter in a secluded place in Kanachack.
Acting over the complaint, a case under Sections 4 Prevention of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act was registered at Police Station Kanachack and hunt was launched to arrest the alleged rapist.
After medical examination, the girl was handed over to family members.
On specific information, a team from Police Station Kanachack led by SHO Inspector Vishav Partap Singh conducted raid and arrested the alleged rapist.
Further investigation into the case is going on.
