JAMMU, Aug 22: In poetry collection contest by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Jammu’s young talent Amaira Gupta, a Class 10 student of Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, launched her debut poetry collection “Drishyon Par Toran”.
The grand launch, organized by the JKAACL, was held at K.L Saigal Hall, Abhinav Theatre. The event began with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp, followed by a welcome address by Harvinder Kour, Secretary, JKAACL..
Padma Shri Dr Vishwa Murti Shastri, chief guest of the event, addressed the gathering, speaking at length about the significance of poetry in life. He blessed the young author by presenting a red chunni as a token of blessings and wished her a bright future.
Rahul Sahai, Chairman of ICC Jammu and guest of honour, lauded Amaira’s achievement and urged other students to draw inspiration from her. The proceedings were anchored by Dr Chanchal Sharma, Editor, JKAACL.
A detailed review paper on “Drishyon Par Toran” was presented by Dr Deepak Pathania, Assistant Professor, Government SPMR College of Commerce, Jammu. The review highlighted Amaira’s vivid imagination and unique literary work, quoting excerpts from her poems.
Other eminent dignitaries present on the occasion included- Dr Anita Sharma, Dr Vinay Rampal, Ajay Khajuria, Dr Atul Ashutosh, Dr Shayan Javed, Prof Pallavi Soni, Dr Priyanka Bhau, Ranjit Manhas and Savita Parihar.
A Yuva Kavi Goshthi was also organized, featuring students from the University of Jammu, local colleges, and schools. Young poets recited verses on themes like “Mera Bharat”, “Swatantrata Sainani”, and “Maa”. The session was compered by Hanshika.
