UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: The young man was found drowned in a Bowli (natural spring of water) at Chigli Chouri in Ramnagar, here this morning.
According to a police, Atul Sharma alias Riky (32), son of Brij Mohan of Ward Number 1, Chigli Chouri, Ramnagar was found drowned at the Bowli near Masjid Gali, Ward Number 5 in Ramnagar, under suspicious circumstances.
The body was spotted by some locals and on being informed, a Police team from PP Ramnagar reached the spot and shifted the body to hospital for postmortem and other legal formalities.
According to family members of the deceased, Atul Kumar was missing since last night, who some villagers had purportedly spotted him in an intoxicated condition near the Bowli in which his body was found.
Police have registered a case in this connection and initiated inquest proceedings under 174 CrPC.
Meanwhile, Police said that the man who was found dead in a Nallah at Karan Nagar, Ward number 6, opposite Pine Villa Guest House Udhampur yesterday, has been identified as Chan Singh (47), son of Suram Singh of Jasarkot Udhampur, who was working as labourer in Udhampur.
