UDHAMPUR, June 26: A young house wife committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances at the house of her in-laws at village Lahnu, here late last night.
The deceased was identified as Geeta Devi (30), wife of Puran Chand of village Lahnu in Udhampur District. She consumed some poisonous substance under mysterious circumstances and fell unconscious. The family members noticed her in serious condition and rushed her to Primary Health Center (PHC) Tikri.
Even as doctors washed her stomach and then referred her to GMC&H Jammu, but she died on way to Jammu. Later, the body was sent for postmortem.
Police has registered a case in this connection for further investigation.
