KATHUA, Feb 19: A young house wife was murdered at her residence in broad day light today by a youth who attacked her with a sharp edged weapon at Mahanpur. The youth happens to be her relative.
The woman was identified as Shilpa Sharma, 28, wife of Kuldeep Kumar of Upper Mahanpur, tehsil Mahanpur district Kathua. She was alone at her residence at the time of attack by the youth who forced his entry in the house and attacked her with sharp edged weapon repeatedly. After committing the crime accused fled away from the spot. As the local people came to know of the attack they rushed to the spot and called the police.
The police also reached the spot and shifted the woman to hospital where doctor declared her as brought dead. The police also arrested the accused who has been identified as Om Parkash, 34, son of Gian Chand, of Dambra who was chased by the villagers after he tried to fled from the crime spot . The dead body was kept in mortuary for postmortem. The Mahanpur police has registered a case in this regard and started investigation. The further details are awaited.
As per reports the accused had blood stains on his body and after committing the crime he tried to hide himself in the bushes nearby but the locals chased him and handed over him to police.
The dead body of the lady was shifted to Trauma Hospital Mahanpur wherefrom it was handed over to the family after postmortem for last rites later.
Police said the accused was the brother in law of ill fated lady and the cause behind his motive is not known.
