MENDHAR, Oct 12: A 22-year-old young girl died due to lightning in Balakot area near the Line of Control in Mendhar Sub Division of Poonch district.
Official sources said that lightning struck the village girl, Saleema Kousar, daughter of Mohammad Zaman, resident of Sohala hamlet across the fence near LoC in Balakot area, when she was on way to provide fodder to the cattle in a cowshed near her house last night.
Block Medical Officer (BMO) Mendhar, Dr Parvaiz Khan said that the woman died due to lightning and the dead body was handed over to the family for performing last rights after post-mortem at local hospital.
