SAMBA, Oct 12: A meeting under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Samba, Anuradha Gupta was held to discuss in detail progress of ongoing works of JJM in the District.
All the Contractors allotted JJM work was present in the meeting. The superintending Engineer Hydraulic circle Jammu and out station contractors attended the meeting through video conferencing. Executive Engineer Jal Shakti PHE division Samba and the Assistant Executive Engineers civil and mechanical were present in person.
The DC discussed component wise works and bottlenecks, if any, and stressed on the speedy completion of the schemes.
The meeting was informed that out of 112 JJM schemes, 81 have been allotted and work on 75 schemes is in progress and three schemes have been completed and another six schemes will be completed by end of this month. The remaining ongoing schemes will be completed in the next three to four months, while the allotment process for remaining 31 schemes is underway.
The DDC directed the engineers and contractors to enhance the pace of work to complete all the schemes in the current financial year. The month wise targets were set and the stakeholders were asked to adhere to the timelines. It was advised by the DC to invoke all mechanisms devised as per agreement, allotment JJM guidelines and GFR 2017.
Some of the problems being faced by contractors were resolved on spot by removing all bottlenecks. Moreover all such issues which needed immediate joint visits by engineering staff and all other concerned departments and contractors within the next two days.
