UDHAMPUR, May 23: A young girl committed suicide by consuming some poisonous substance at her residence in village Panchot Kud, here today.
According to the police report, 24 year old Luxmi Devi, daughter of Bishan Dass of village Panchot Kud consumed some poisonous substance at her residence. The family members noticed her in serious condition and rushed her to PHC Kud. The doctors washed her stomach but she did not respond to the treatment and died after some time. Later, the body was sent for postmortem. The police after completion of all the formalities and postmortem, handed over the body to family members and also registered a case under Section 174 RPC for further investigation.
Cause of taking extreme step could not be ascertained.
Meanwhile, a middle aged woman was found dead under mysterious circumstances at her residence at village Lapa Dudu.
The deceased was identified as Krishna Devi (50) wife of Kartar Chand of village Lapa (Dudu). Police took the dead body to PHC Dudu for postmortem and registered the case under Section 174 RPC for further investigation.
One injured, fall from mini bus, Meanwhile, a boy sustained injuries when he fell from a moving minibus near Padanu. The injured, identified as Vinay Dass (17), son of Prshotam Dass of Chack, fell from mini bus JK14-6538, which was on way to Udhampur. Locals shifted the injured to District Hospital Udhampur and his condition was stated to be stable.
