Yogic approach to prevent suicide

Sir,
“Yes! Suicides are preventable” by Dr Raminder Paul Singh formed a very interesting reading. This article is a dire need of the present times when suicide rates are increasing at an alarming rate. He seems to have delved deep into the literature, both religious as well as psychoanalytical, and presented data pertaining to suicides in a very simple and interesting manner, he has discussed a subject which really needs serious approach particularly with respect to measures for its prevention.
The thought of committing suicide is not just a spontaneous one, but comes after a long process of analysis (negative) of finding a solution to end the unending worries prevailing at his work place, home or social circle around him. Most of the suicides are committed in a well planned way which indicates that the individual has had thought over his problem for a long time, though his approach to this thinking was negative, improper and uncalled for. Suicide is the result of a condition of mind caused by extremely high stress prevailing in the life of an individual for over a long period of time. The stress when allowed to continue over long periods, leads to depression which ultimately makes the person feel that the only liberation from this unending depression is to end one’s own life.
If this individual is given any of the treatments mentioned by the author, he could be  prevented from committing suicide. All the preventive measures mentioned by the author are really effective, but the most important measure tested over centuries is   the Yogic treatment which perhaps has skipped the attention of the author.
Yoga not only makes a person physically strong, but makes him realize the importance of life on one hand and to make him mentally strong enough to tide over the unfavorable circumstances and fight against them. It makes him  realize that life is full of struggles and one should never give in .He also starts understanding that ending one’s life is not  the end of  miseries but  instead makes the life of  other  members of his family miserable.
Yours etc…
