JAMMU, Sept 11: Emphasizing the need of raising massive awareness about the significance of Yoga and Ayurveda, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat today said that these have even added relevance in present times.
The Minister, after inaugurating the free medical camp organized by Jammu International Ayurveda and Yoga Association here today, made a fervent appeal to the people to adopt yoga as an integral part of their lives as it is highly needed today when we are totally engrossed in working like a machine leading ourselves towards self destruction.
He appreciated the efforts of the doctors and para medicos for extending enhanced medicare to the patients and hoped that they will leave no stone unturned to uphold the dignity of their noble profession. He exhorted upon them to put in their sincere efforts in achieving new goals in health sector particularly Ayurveda and Yoga.
On the occasion, Chairperson of Trikuta Group of College Suman Sharma was the guest of honour.
The Minister expressed gratitude to the Association for contributing towards welfare of the society. He said that the initiative will go a long way in improving the health standards of the people. He appealed the social organizations to come forward and supplement Government efforts of providing better health services to the people.
During the camp, free medicines and Panchkarma were given to the patients.
Bali called upon the medical fraternity and other ayurveda organizations to work together and deliver best services to the patients. He said the State is fast progressing on the front of health services and day is not far when people even in far off villages could avail specialized consultancy at their doorsteps.
President, Jammu International Ayurveda and Yoga Association, Dr. Sahil Pandoh, also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the importance of yoga and ayurveda.
Dr. Viraj Bhandari, Ras Shastra Bhaishjya Kalpana Pune, checked the patients suffering from spine disorder, cervical, skin disorder, joint pain etc
Later, the Minister presented trophies and certificates among the doctors and representatives of other social organizations.
