Yog Sansthan suggests preventive measures against COVID-19

JAMMU, Mar 22: In view of the outbreak of Coronavirus (Covid-19) declared as ‘Pendemic’ by WHO and in line with the Government orders and advisory to prevent the spread of virus, Bharatiya Yog Sansthan (BYS) has taken various steps to prevent the spread of this epidemic.
The Sansthan has suspended all Yoga classes both morning and evening at all the 120 Yog Kendras for the time being.
The Foundation day celebrations schedule for April 10, 2020 has also been postponed for the time being and All India Yog Shiver scheduled for 10-16 April at Delhi has also been cancelled.
To improve immunity Yog Sahdaks and other people have been advised to follow precautions in addition to Government guidelines.
They were asked to take fresh food which has been prepared at home. Food prepared more than three hour before should not be consumed, people were asked to take vegetarian food only, they were asked practise Yog asans regularly involving neck, lungs, liver, and stomach movements viz. Surya Namaskar, Konasan, Ardhchakarasan, Ushtrasan, Mandookasan, Bhujangasan, Padottanasan, Markatasan, Shavasan etc, Pranyam- Anulom Vilom, Kapal Bhati, Ujjayi and Bhramari Pranayam.
Among the other advisories Sadaks were asked daily practice of Rubber Neti, Sutar Neti, and Jal Neti which can prove very useful. Moreover people should take lime water, Amla juice, pineapple juice, fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables and welcome every body with Namaste only.
The people were also asked to follow the instructions of Government on social distancing, hand cleaning, restricting movements, work from home, not to resort to hoarding and complying Government instructions.
Meanwhile Geeta Satsnagh Ashram Muthi and Parijat Seva Sansthan, Anand Nagar Bohri has cancelled all Navratra functions including Hawan to be performed on April 2 in view of the prevailing situation.
Swami Kumar Ji has besides cancelling all Navratra functions including Navreh, Zangtrai and Navmi celebrations has also postponed Samohik Yagno Pavit ceremony to be held on April 9. Swami Ji appealed the people to have deep meditation both in the morning and evening and also perform Yog Asnas to keep the disease at bay.
