JAMMU, Apr 6: Youth National Conference (YNC) and Mission Statehood held protest against the rising prices of the essential items including petrol, diesel and LPG cylinder.
The Youth Wing of National Conference today staged protest against the hike in fuel prices and unemployment. Led by Tejinder Pal Singh (Aman), District President Jammu and Sandeep Singh Zonal President Youth Wing of National Conference, the protesters assembled in front of Press Club and raised slogans against the steep hike in petroleum products.
Talking to media persons, Tejinder Pal Singh said the fuel prices are all time high these days and about 80 per cent of the people who solely depend on daily wages are the worst hit. “The Narendra Modi-led Government is realising over 69 per cent tax on fuel while the price of crude oil in the international market has come down by 29 per cent”, Singh said.
Sandeep Singh Wazir Zonal President YNC, Nitish Goswami Provincial Secretary, Sahil Kerni and Rabat also expressed their views.
The leaders said that the National Conference would continue its protest to press for necessary steps to control the rising prices of essentials, including vegetables, pulses, petrol, diesel, vegetable oil and cooking gas.
Among those who joined the protest include Avtar Singh, Chandeep Singh, Prince, Manjeet Singh, Imtaz, Chandan, Rohit, Sanampreet Singh, Ajay Kumar, Vicky Mehra, Sahid Ali, etc.
Meanwhile, Mission Statehood also held protest against the rising prices of the petroleum products.
A large number of workers of Mission Statehood led by its President Sunil Dimple held protest here and raised slogans against the Government.
While speaking, Sunil Dimple alleged that the price of petrol and diesel are increasing on daily basis, which is creating manifold problems for the common masses. He added that the women folk are unable to maintain their kitchen budget as the LPG cylinder price is touching sky.
“Prime Minister Narendra Modi should take effective steps to control the rising prices of petrol, diesel, LPG cylinders and other essential items”, he demanded.
Others present on the occasion were Roky Kapahi, Vicky, Mukesh, Dev Raj, Ashok Khana, Dev Raj, Jetinder Gupta, Ram Kumar, Raju Dogra, etc.
