YCET organizes workshop on ‘Innovation & Entrepreneurship’

JAMMU, Nov 8: The Institute Innovation Council (IIC) at Yogananda College of Engineering & Technology (YCET) organized a workshop on “Innovation & Entrepreneurship” for the students of final year.
The program commenced with the interaction of Er Annil Suri , a renowned entrepreneur, with the students in which he stressed upon the fact that entrepreneurs are frequently thought as national assets to be cultivated, motivated, and remunerated to the greatest possible extent. He motivated the technocrats that if they become successful entrepreneur, their innovations may improve not only the standards of living, in addition to creating wealth with entrepreneurial ventures, they can also create jobs and contribute to a growing economy.
The session was followed by Dr Vinod Sharma, faculty JKEDI who impressed upon the students for various schemes and policies offered by the Government for entrepreneurs. “Keeping in view the contribution of small scale business in providing employment to the present generation, regional development of the country, promotion of exports and various policies that are coming as a thrust towards establishing, promoting and developing small business sector, Government is actively providing self-employment opportunities by giving assistance in respect of infrastructure, finance, technology, training, raw-materials and marketing,” he said.
The second session continued with the next guest speaker Er Shilpa Baluja, coordinator MSME, Govt of India, who elaborated on the services provided by MSME like facilities for testing, training for entrepreneurship development, preparation of project reports , product profiles, technical and managerial consultancy.
The session concluded with the presentation of Er Girish Parihar who is a budding entrepreneur. He motivated the students about building a life on their own terms, no bosses, no restricting schedules and no one holding them back. He also stated that entrepreneurs are able to take the first step into making the world a better place for everyone and laid emphasis on setting up a goal and to achieve that.
Dr A K Srivastava, Director YCET; Er B R Verma, Chief Coordinator YCET; Er Neeraj Pandita, HoD Mechanical; Er K R Sharma, senior faculty member and Er Dinesh Gupta, Coordinator Planning & Development were also present on the occasion. The workshop was conducted by Department of Mechanical Engg (YCET).
