JAMMU, Jan 20: Department of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) and Applied Sciences, Yogananda College of Engineering and Technology (YCET) organized a session on ‘Intellectual Property Rights (IPR)’ for Computer Science & Applied Science students.
The session began with welcome address. The resource person was Robin Kumar, HoD CSE and he explained about various IPRs and mentioned about legal rights which protect creations and/or inventions resulting from intellectual activity in the industrial, scientific, literary or artistic fields.
Further he explained that these rights are given to persons over the creations of their minds. IPRs give the creator an exclusive right over the use of his/her creation for a certain period of time.
Further he discussed about types of IPRs and how one can get benefitted.
Director YCET Prof. (Dr.), Mukesh Kumar Rana and Dean Academics and IIC Cell President, Dinesh Gupta also addressed the students and said that this session will nurture creativity and the ability to innovate from a young age. The session was coordinated by Neeraj Kumar.
