JAMMU, Aug 30: YCET trained 2373 students in 67 courses offered by Spoken Tutorial Project of IIT Bombay and spread mass awareness on FLOSS/MOOC’s for the Northern Region.
Spoken Tutorial is an award winning IT / Software Training Project, developed at IIT Bombay and funded by the National Mission on Education through ICT (NMEICT), Ministry of Education (formerly MHRD), Government of India.
The Spoken Tutorial Project is an initiative of National Mission on Education through ICT, MHRD, Government of India, to promote IT literacy through Open Source Software.
YCET is associated with IIT Bombay since 2018. Dinesh Gupta is the central coordinator for the IIT Bombay Spoken Tutorial Project at YCET, and the Departmental coordinators are Anamika from the Electrical Department, Anshu Sharma from the Computer Science Department, Inderdeep Singh from the Mechanical Department, and Shivam Sharma from the Civil Department.
The management of YCET is very keen to provide vigorous trainings besides co-curricular, so that students shall become employable and should overcome any type of technology challenges.
The main important courses were offered to all the engineering streams like aurdino, leverage, Open FOAM, QCAD, Linux, and many more. These advanced courses also made it easier for students to have an edge during campus placements.
A national level conclave on spoken tutorial teaching- learning best practices and award ceremony 2022 was held at Victor Menezes Convention Center (VMCC), IIT Bombay on 27th August, 2022.
Rajnish Mangotra, HoD, Civil, was presented with the Bright Institute Award during the conclave by Dr. Shyama Iyer, national coordinator, and Prof. Kannan Moudgalya, Director, IIT, Bombay.
