JAMMU, Apr 29: A deputation of Baba Amarnath & Budha Amarnath Yatri Niyas comprising of Surinder Mohan Aggarwal president, Rajesh Gupta vice president, Karan Singh Charak general secretary and Sudershan Kajuria joint general secretary met R K Tripathi Chief Executive Officer, Amarnathji Shrine Board at Raj Bhawan, here today in connection with Shri Amarnathji Yatra 2016.
The president BABA Yatri Niyas stressed that during the yatra the yatries of outside States felt great difficulties in getting the registration and demanded that a counter at Shakti Ashram, Old Rehari, Jammu having a current registration of 400 Yatries per day should be allotted to Niyas for the smooth booking of Yatries/sadhus hailing from State as well as from outside the State. Aggarwal also informed the CEO that this facility was already made available to BABA Yatri Niyas but for the last two years this was denied by the Board for the reason best known to them despite the fact that the Governor who is also the Chairman of the Board has already agreed for this.
Aggarwal suggested that the registration counter at Geeta Bhawan should also be allowed to register common pilgrims. He demanded that a new route from Zozila side should be opened so that the pilgrims of Kargil side may perform Yatra easily.
Aggarwal discussed with CEO the difficulties being faced by Langerwalas for getting the police verification of the sewadars of langers who hail from far flung areas and suggested that instead an undertaking from Langer Trust Heads about their conduct should be taken in place of verification certificate. He stressed that the permission for installing of three langers mainly for Sadhus at Baltal, Chandanwari & Panjtarni should be allotted to the Niyas. The meeting was held in a cordial manner and CEO agreed to consider the demands made by BABA Yatri Niyas. The meeting was also attended by Jatinder Singh Additional C.E.O and other officers of the Amarnathji Shrine Board.
