JAMMU, May 28: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) took out a rally from its headquarters at Muthi to Press Club and staged a demonstration there demanding adjustment of the youth under PM’s special employment package.
Led by the president of the organization, R K Bhat the demonstrators sought the personnel intervention of Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah in settling the issue.
The protestors appealed the Chief Minister for immediate filling up of the remaining 4548 posts out of 6000 posts sanctioned under PM’s employment scheme for displaced Pandit youth including the selection of 221 candidates who have also approached the court of law and got these posts reserved with the directions for their early adjustment. They said the demand was already approved by the State Cabinet vide its decision No 143/19/2011 but it is still pending due to Government’s apathy.
Addressing the demonstrators R K Bhat assured the unemployed youth of the community that YAIKS which is spearheading the employment issue of the community will not take rest till package of 6000 jobs would be implemented in letter and spirit.
He said 221 candidates are the genuine and deserving candidates. It is last chance for them to seek a  Government job and other wise their career will turn bleak, he added.
Maintaining that YAIKS is committed to the demand, he said it will not rest till 221 youth get justice.
He warned that in case the demand was not settled within 10 days YAIKS members will proceed to Summer Capital and protest there.
Manoj Handoo, Sunil Koul, D N Bhat, Sanjay Ji, Sandeep Bhat, Ajay Raina, Princy Ji, Sunil Bhat, Deepak Koul and Ajit Ji were others who addressed the gathering.
