JAMMU, July 13: Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) today urged the Government to provide foolproof security to minorities in Kashmir Valley and shift the PM package employees and their families to Jammu immediately till normalcy is restored in strife -torn Valley.
This demand was made in YAIKS convention here which was organized to decide the future course of action in view of the mob attacks on transit camps of migrants in Valley at Vessu and Mattan in South Kashmir district of Anantnag.
The convention said that the package employees putting up in transit camps are feeling totally insecure as fear psychosis loom large in Valley in the aftermath of the killing of Hizbul Commander Burhan Wani on July 8.
The convention was held under the chairmanship of R K Bhat president YAIKS to deliberate over the prevailing alarming situation in the Valley and the plight of the Pandits as well as Package employees putting up there.
It strongly condemned the attack on Pandit colonies in Valley. The KP leaders who addressed the gathering included Prof A N Sadhu, a well known scholar, H N Jattu, president AIKS, B L Saraf (retired Session Judge ) etc.
The PM package employees also shared their last six years experience in Valley and also revealed the ordeal, they had undergone during recent unrest. These employees revealed that they are leading a suppressed life in Valley as fear psychosis loom large. They also revealed that how stone pelters and mob attacked their camps especially, the Haal transit camp.
They alleged that some anti social elements are hell bent to disturb the communal harmony and the present scenario and disturbances in Valley pose a new challenge to the minorities living there in general and PM package employees in particular.
The speakers said under such conditions, it is impossible for these employees to live in Valley as the Government has failed to make proper arrangements for their security and safety. They said the safety of these employees is not the concern of community alone and Government needs to pay its attention to the same.
The KP leaders warned that in case, any untoward happens to these employees both State and Central Governments will be held responsible for the same.
