JAMMU, Jan 20: The indefinite protest launched by Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) in support of the unemployed displaced youth in front of Raj Bhawan here entered the third consecutive day today.
The protesters are seeking the immediate intervention of Governor N N Vohra towards the plight of the displaced Pandit youth and demanded immediate filling up of remaining 4000 posts out of PM’s job package of 6000 posts announced by then Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh way back in 2008 at Jammu.
The protesters with banners and pla-cards in their hands were shouting slogans in support of their demands and alleged that the displaced youth were totally betrayed by successive Governments on the name of employment package which turned out a total fraud with the community youth.
The protest is led by R K Bhat president YAIKS. He said it is unfortunate that 221 posts which have been left out while making selections in 2010 are running pillar to post for justice till date. These candidates were recommended for selection by various Government agencies from time to time including Parliamentary Standing Committee, report No 179, Governor of the State as well as a Cabinet decision was also taken in this regard  in 2011. But despite the selection orders were not issued in their favour for no fault of theirs.
Bhat while strongly pleading the case of these candidates said their selection is genuine and justified from every angle. It is last chance for them to seek a Government job as they are on the verge of over age.
He said that YAIKS will continue the struggle till it reaches to its logical conclusion and these 221 candidates get justice. He warned that in case the demand was not met immediately the YAIKS will be forced to intensify the agitation and the Government will be responsible for all consequences.
