JAMMU, Feb 1: To reconnect displaced community of Kashmiri Pandits to their lost roots and to seek political reservation for the community in the State and Central Legislature, Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) restructured and reshuffled the organization here in Jammu. It nominated 46 constituency wise coordinators for all the 10 districts of Kashmir. The membership drive for all the displaced Kashmiri’s above the age of 18 was also launched in the one day conference of YAIKS. The new team included R. K. Bhat as president YAIKS, Sanjay Ganjoo, Manoj Handoo and Sunil Koul as vice presidents, Bal K Bhat general secretary, Sanjeev Koul general secretary (Org), Vimal Raina in-charge – Valley Posted Migrant Employees (VPME), Rakesh Fotedar, Vinod Bhat and Sunil Bhat coordinators, VPME, D N Bhat, Avtar K Dhar and B L Dhar advisors, Rajni Raina in-charge Delhi, Radhika Raina in-charge Mumbai, Sanjay Raina, Vipin Kachroo and Simi Bhat media secretary Ajay Pandita and Neeraj Koul office secretary, Ashwani Kak, Kamal Tak programme co-ordinators, Arvind Wali, Jimmy Bazaz, Amit Raina, Shakuntala, Archana Sharma, Poonam Sharma and Sonu Bhat Team IT Cell, Dileep Bhat, Sanjay, Rakesh, Dileep Pandita, Virander, Deepu, Naresh, Reshab, Sunita Bhat and Babita Raina organisors In addition to this 46 were nominated constituency wise coordinators of YAIKS from all the 10 districts of Kashmir valley and 26 were nominated core group members of YAIKS.
The community leaders gave a clarion call to launch a sustained struggle for their long overdue political, social, economic and cultural rights in the UT of JK.
The convention was organized in the backdrop of the deteriorating political and economical profile of KPs and their complete absence from the political and administrative priorities of the Government. The YAIKS leaders called upon all the political parties to give due priority to the community in the State. The leaders of the community identified some major areas for sustained struggle and discussed the present political scenario of the community.
R. K. Bhat, chief YAIKS during his keynote address to 111 newly nominated core group Executive members of YAIKS said since our community has been politically deprived, we don’t have any political reservation in the State Assembly and Central Parliament with the result we are living an exiled life for over 30 years and are still in search of our homes and hearths.
