JAMMU, Feb 5: To chalk out the future strategy of struggle in seeking justice for displaced unemployed youth of the community, who are the main victims of terrorism and were totally ignored over these years by successive Governments, the Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) organised a convention here, today under the leadership of its president, R K Bhat.
The convention, which was attended by hundreds of youth resolved to launch a comprehensive struggle for the redressal of demands.
The YAIKS, decided to fight the survival issues of the displaced youth vigorously so that every unemployed and overaged youth gets justice in a stipulated time frame.
R K Bhat in his address said “We are still optimistic about the present dispensation in Delhi and JK that they will take steps in settling the long pending issues of displaced Pandits in general and its youth in particular”.
Bhat asked the Government to start dialogue with the YAIKS leadership, who are pioneer in reconnecting the displaced youth back to their land and origin, failing which they will be forced to launch the agitation.
The convention appealed Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha to take the cognizance of the issue of unemployed left over candidates.
During the convention more than 500 left over candidates reiterated their faith on YAIKS leadership. The YAIKS convention said each and every individual of displaced community may be provided jobs as per their eligibility rather to stick on merit. The Government may also sanction the quota against 25000 retired KP employees during the migration period of 32 years. GOI should reserve 3% to 5% reservation for displaced youth in Central Government departments and Educational Institutions for our long term needs.
It was appealed to Government to announce a fresh employment package of 1500 for community youth, besides, a special recruitment drive be made for the youths in State & Central Police Forces, who could not get higher education due to displacement.
The convention further appealed to Lt. Governor to resolve the long pending demand of over aged youth of the community by announcing a special compensation for 15000 community youths, who are the first victim of displacement.
