YAIKS delegation calls on RRC, highlights demands

JAMMU, Mar 19: A delegation of the Youth All India Kashmiri Samaj (YAIKS) led by its president R K Bhat called on the Relief & Rehabilitation Commissioner, K K Sidha to bring up the burning issues and problems which require the urgent intervention by the administration.
While appreciating the initiatives of different Government and private schemes initiated by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, for the displaced community R K Bhat said that they are optimistic that justice for displaced unemployed youth and over-aged section of the community, who are the victims of terrorism and were totally ignored over these years by the successive Governments.
The YAIKS, appealed him to take the cognizance of the issue of unemployed left over candidates, who are fighting their case and overaged lot of displaced community. YAIKS said whosoever is ready to work in Kashmir under PM’s rehabilitation scheme, should be provided jobs as per their eligibility rather than go for merit. The Government should also sanction the quota against 25000 retired KP employees during the migration period of 32 years. GOI should reserve 3% to 5% jobs for displaced youth in Central Government departments and educational institutions. The meeting further appealed to the R & R Commissioner to resolve the long pending demand of the over aged section of the community who are the first victim of displacement.
The delegation asked RRC to recommend sanction of 15000 more jobs and onetime special compensation for 15000 overaged youth of the community who could not take any benefit of the PM’s rehabilitation scheme. The enhancement to cash relief assistance to relief holders besides the special recruitment drive in State Police and in Central sponsor security forces for those youth who couldn’t get higher education due to their displacement were also highlighted in the meeting.
The meeting also stressed upon the safety, security and independent accommodation for the Valley Posted Migrant Employees.
K K Sidha assured all possible help to resolve the short term and long-term issues of the community.
