JAMMU, Oct 18: Water Works Employees Association of PHE department discussed the pending demands of the workers in a meeting held here today.
The workers’ meeting was held under the chairmanship of provincial president of the Association and State president of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC), Shiv Kumar Sharma. The problems and demands relating to the daily wagers as well as permanent employees of the department were discussed at length.
Mr Sharma while speaking on the occasion demanded that pending wages of 25-30 months of the PHE workers be released on Eid and Diwali festivals. He also demanded regularization of daily rated workers and enhancement of their wages, besides release of 6 % DA in favour of employees and pensioners and conduct of DPC of all cadres in PHE department.
Prominent among others present in the meeting included Vinod Kumar, Raman Kumar, Ajay Sharma, Radhey Sham, Madan Lal, Mangal Dass and Navdeep Singh.
