WWAID protests for demands

UDHAMPUR, Sept 10: The members of Workers Welfare Association Irrigation Department, Udhampur, held a strong protest for their long time pending demand of making a permanent head of Need based employees.
While addressing the gathering, WWAI leaders said that a Permanent Head for these employees would help them to get their salaries on time every month. Moreover, they should be brought under Minimum wages scheme that ensures Rs 150 per day which would be giving to them, they added.
The protesting workers lamented that despite an assurance by the Xen, they were not paid their wages on the occasion of Rakshabandhan festival. “Now when Janamashtami has also passed, our genuine demands are still pending and we are suffering, they added.
The Association urged all such employees of PHE, R & B, PDD and PWD to come together and raise their voice jointly so that it reaches the higher authorities.
Those who addressed, included, Pawan Kumar, Jagdeep Chander, Bodhraj, Darshan Singh, Sudesh Kumar, Ranjeet Singh, Charan Dass, Vijay Kumar, Anwar and others.
