JAMMU, Sept 11:   Former minister and senior NC leader Ajay Sadhotra  today alleged that wrong policies of  PDP-BJP Government are pushing youth towards wall as there is no employment policy for them.
Addressing NC workers at Marh today, Mr Sadhotra expressed his serious concern over the rise in unemployment. He  said that present Government has adopted anti-youth policies and there is fast growing alienation among youth. Central Government has announced recruitment of ten thousand SPOs but it is unfortunate that minimum qualification for SPOs has been kept Matric pass instead of Under-matric. Prior to it, minimum qualification for appointment of SPOs was Under-Matric.  By keeping Matric as minimum qualification for SPOs, the Government has closed the avenues of the employment for major chunk of the youth of the society.
Mr Sadhotra has demanded that minimum qualification for recruitment of SPOs, Constables and Class-IV should be 8th pass instead of Matric so that the big chunk of  youth could also have a chance to get service.
National Conference leader further said that tall claims of skill development among the youth are also not visible on the ground. The time will come when there will be acute shortage of  drivers, automobile mechanics, plumbers, masons, electricians etc. He asked the government to take immediate steps for skill development with proper placement of the youth.
Meanwhile, many youth from PDP, BJP and Congress joined the National Conference on the occasion. Mr Sadhotra welcomed the new comers in the party fold.   Mr Sadhotra claimed that  NC is committed to secularism, socialism and democracy. He asked the youth to strengthen secularism as some elements with vested interests are bent upon creating communal tension in Jammu.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Pt Jagdish Raj, Swarn Singh, Sub Ghasita Ram, Master Prem Saini, Piar Singh, Charan Dass Ex-Sarpanch, Harnam Singh, Rakesh Sharma, Raman Singh, Puran Chand and Gopal Sharma.
