JAMMU, May 10: Jammu & Kashmir BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP, Sat Sharma, (CA), today said that the writings and speeches of B. R. Ambedkar continue to hold immense relevance in present-day society.
Sat Sharma who along with Nanaji Deshmukh Library in charge, Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra, received a valuable collection of books comprising 21 volumes titled “Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Writings and Speeches”, which were formally handed over by BJP vice president and former DDC Chairman, Bharat Bhushan during a programme held at the party Headquarters here, said that Dr. Ambedkar’s vision and ideology provides deep insight into social justice, Constitutional values, equality, democracy, and inclusive nation-building.
He said that Babasaheb’s life and teachings continue to inspire generations across the country and serve as a guiding force in strengthening democratic values and social harmony.
He further said that libraries play an important role in spreading awareness and knowledge among youth and intellectuals, and the addition of such valuable literature would help readers better understand the immense contribution of Dr. Ambedkar towards shaping modern India and the Indian Constitution. He said that the BJP remains committed to promoting intellectual and ideological enrichment through accessible reading resources and educational initiatives.
Bharat Bhushan, while sharing details about the collection, said that these books have been published by the Higher Education Department of the Maharashtra Government and were provided to Bharatiya Sahitya Academy, Jammu, by Tata Power. He added that after receiving the volumes from the Academy, he decided to dedicate them to the Nanaji Deshmukh Library so that a larger number of readers and scholars could benefit from the invaluable knowledge, vision, and philosophy of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.
Prof. Kulbhushan Mohtra expressed gratitude to Bharat Bhushan for bringing the important collection to the library. He said that the addition of these books would greatly benefit students, academicians, scholars, and readers interested in understanding the life, ideology, and contributions of Dr. Ambedkar.
BJP spokesperson Balbir Ram Rattan was also present on the occasion.
