Worsening power scenario

Sir,
At a time when State Government offices owe PDD crores of rupees, villages in rural areas are subjected to undue scheduled and unscheduled power cuts which lost not for an hour or two but for days together.
There can be no best example than that of village Churanda in Hajipeer sector which has remained without electricity for 20 days continuously. One can very well imagine the conditions in which these unheard people would be living.
Similarly, Poonch and Rajouri town too have witnessed a wave of protests over electricity cuts in the area. Though one can understand the helplessness of the PDD in supplying electricity during heavy snowfall or hailstorm. But  it has no excuse when the climatic conditions improve.
Everybody knows, power pilferage is assuming an ugly dimension with every passing day. The Department should launch a massive drive against this menace in case it wants to improve the power situation  in the State or  be ready to face protests.
Yours etc….
